Zynga officially unveils its first Web3 game
Zynga, one of the world’s largest mobile game developers and publishers, introduced its first Web3 game called Sugartown. Zynga became the first major mobile game developer to develop a Web3 game from the ground up. Sugartown is built on the Ethereum network and players can earn rewards along with an immersive experience.

As seen in the trailer, Sugartown tells the story of three farm animals who accidentally open a door to another dimension. In the game, ERC-721-based Ora tokens are used as proof of ownership. While players gain energy by staking these tokens, they can use this energy to earn Sugar, the in-game currency used to play Sugartown and unlock rewards.

Matt Wolf, Zynga Web3 Vice President, said in a statement on the subject:
We are excited to release Sugartown as both Zynga’s first Web3 game and the first Web3 game from a major mobile game developer. We created Sugartown to cater to the Web3 market, but set out with the goal of scaling much wider over time as we build a community of passionate and engaged users that we hope will enjoy bringing this experience to life as much as we do.
