The works of the world-famous Spanish artist Salvador Dali have been converted to NFT (Non-fungible token). Digital products have been on sale since April 13. Dali, who lived between 1904-1989, is one of the most famous names in history. Dali is known for creating his own art language by breaking the traditions in painting and sculpture. Among the NFTs (Non-fungible tokens) are the original work of eight statues such as Lady Godiva. 9,999 of each NFT were created.
The sculptures of Salvador Dali, one of the most important representatives of the Surrealism movement, were transformed into NFT (Non-fungible token) by Dalí Universe and Artscrapy. Limited edition Salvador Dali NFTs are on sale for $30 each.
Dali Universe, which has one of the largest private collections of the artist, and Artscapy, the art collection platform, came together for NFTs.
Among the NFTs offered for sale through Artscapy; Salvador Dali's iconic works such as 'Dance of the Time III', 'Lady Godiva' and 'Nobility of Time' were also featured. While 9,999 pieces were created from each NFT, NFTs were offered for sale for £25 (approximately 480 TL).
Dali Universe stated that they want to provide a new opportunity to reach new collectors and to those who want to buy the artist's works with NFTs.
Dali Universe President Beniamino Levi said that he is excited about the transfer of the famous artist's works to the virtual environment.
The founders of Artscapy, Alessandro and Emilia De Stasio, also expressed that they are honored to publish Dali's first NFT collection and said;
“We are committed to preserving Dali's artistic legacy and bringing his work to new people.”
It is planned that the proceeds from the NFT sale will be transferred directly to Dali Universe and used for the preservation of the artist's works.
