Shiba Inu (SHIB) teamed up with game creator and Former Vice President of Technology William David Volk on its play-to-earn non-fungible token (NFT) game.

Volk was Vice President of Technology at Activision until Roblox recently took over that role.

Volk said the following about his role:

“I am honored to be working with an amazing team on what will become one of the most significant games of all time.”

First, the game called Oshiverse will be the newest extension of the SHIB ecosystem. Shytoshi Kusama, the project leader of the decentralized meme currency, touched on the subject in an article on Medium titled “The Future of Gaming Shib” on Nov. 26.

“He’s a true visionary with decades of top-notch high-quality experience on the corporate side, and also on the independent side, having run his own game studio as well.”

Shytoshi also revealed that Shiba Inu has likely partnered with an AAA game company to develop an NFT game that will use Shiboshi NFTs. Due to an existing confidentiality agreement, he did not specify whose studio this was.

SHIB Twitter account tweeted out: “We are proud to welcome @william_volk to Shiba Inu Games!”

Also, Shytoshi gave further details about the scope of the Shiba Inu game, which will run primarily on iOS and Android devices.

“Provide unique opportunities within the Shiba Inu Ecosystem ($SHIB, $LEASH & $BONE), while Shiba Inu Games remains completely separate from this activity.”

No announcement has been made about the game's release date yet.

Elsewhere, electronics retailer Newegg confirmed that it would accept SHIB as a payment method starting on Monday, November 29.

Currently, SHIB is trading at $0.000039357, up 4.62 percent over the past 24 hours with a 21.6 billion market, as per CoinMarketCap statistics.
