Partnered with Tezos Foundation and Unity

The Tezos (XTZ) Foundation has announced that it has entered into a professional services agreement with game engine developer Unity. According to a press release dated November 25, 2022, Unity’s strategic partnership with Accelerate Solutions will enable the development of a Web3 blockchain SDK for games and dApps.

As the crypto winter of 2022 continues to hit Bitcoin (BTC) and other cryptocurrencies hard, Web3 games continue to gain greater adoption and now the Tezos (XTZ) Foundation has taken the next step by joining forces with Unity, a leading game engine developer.

According to a press release by the team, the energy-efficient Tezos (XTZ) blockchain network signed a professional services agreement with Unity’s Accelerate Solutions group in early May 2022 for the creation of a new Web3 blockchain software development kit (SDK). If approved, the Tezos (XTZ) Foundation and Tezos (XTZ) ecosystem teams plan to offer the Web3 Blockchain SDK as a Verified Solution and as an optional Web3 game development plugin through the Unity Asset Store.

Specifically, the team made it clear that the new Tezos (XTZ) Web3 blockchain SDK is available on all platforms, including desktop computers, Android and iOS devices, and Web browsers. In addition to enabling Unity developers to create Web3 games, the SDK will also support the development of energy-efficient proof-of-stake (PoS)-based Tezos (XTZ) blockchain decentralized applications (dApps).

Jermy Foo, Head of Global Gaming at TriliTech, a Tezos-focused blockchain research and development center, said about the Tzos-Unity partnership:

“We’re excited to see a Tezos (XTZ) SDK created in collaboration with Unity’s Professional Services team, bringing the Web3 game option to the most popular game development platform. This is the first comprehensive blockchain SDK co-developed with Unity, providing game developers with an easy-to-use and complete solution to add a wide variety of Web3 features that will make the game more enjoyable for gamers.”

Thanks to its low carbon footprint, the Tezos (XTZ) blockchain network has been used by a number of leading brands in the real world recently, including popular American pizza restaurants Papa John’s, English Premier League giant, Manchester United and others.
