New Feature Exciting Ripple Community Launched!
Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse shared a tweet explaining that he was excited after the launch of the NFT feature on the XRP Ledger.
The XRP community was overjoyed after the news that the native non-fungible token (NFT) feature was launched on the XRP Ledger (XRPL). Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse congratulated the new development on Twitter.
Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse accompanied other members of the XRP community to celebrate the success. Garlinghouse described this achievement as an “incredible milestone” for the XRP Ledger community.
“An incredible milestone for the #XRPLedger community!”
The famous CEO also added a gif of two men and a woman jumping excitedly. Garlinhouse’s reaction to the development also shows the excitement of the XRP community, knowing that XRPL now supports non-fungible tokens.

XRP development team RippleX confirmed the news on Twitter, telling XRP holders to “reward themselves with NFTs on the XRP Ledger.” It is claimed that this initiative will greatly contribute to the widespread adoption of XRP.
Additionally, Ripple’s CTO David Schwartz announced on Twitter that the NFT feature is now available in XRPL:
“Thanks to the joint effort of the XRPL community and RippleXDev engineers, the XLS-20 is now enabled on the XRP Ledger Mainnet and several NFTs have already been minted.”
According to Schwartz, NFTs on the Ripple blockchain are unique compared to digital collections hosted on other networks. Schwartz said the development team has taken a non-smart contract approach, thus making XRPL-based NFTs more robust against security risks. The XLS-20 modification was a proposal that has garnered a lot of attention since last year. The change was first suggested last year by Nik Bougalis, XRP’s director of engineering.
