The famous automobile brand Ford has officially entered the world of Metaverse in the past months. By building a studio on 6 plots in Decentraland, Ford started to exhibit its newest models in this studio.
Ford continues to take new steps in the world of NFT and Metaverse. It turned out that Ford made a total of 19 trademark applications on Wednesday, covering some of its most beloved models. It is claimed that after this application, the company will carry out various studies in the Metaverse field.
Ford plans to set up a virtual marketplace
Mike Kondoudis, a lawyer for the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), announced on his Twitter account that Ford has filed a trademark application for a total of 19 models on Wednesday, primarily models such as Mustang, Lincoln, Raptor and Transit. The applications include virtual cars, trucks, pickup trucks, SUVs and a plan to build a virtual NFT marketplace.

Ford also plans to create downloadable artwork, text, audio, and videos, according to a filing with the USPTO on September 2. It was also announced that the company plans to install various computer programs that include downloadable vehicle parts, accessories and stickers. In the NFT marketplace, it is planned to establish an area where others can promote their digital works.
Ford is not the first brand to enter the world of Metaverse. Previously, giant automobile brands such as Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz, Bentlet have also applied for trademarks or published their own NFT collections.
