In response to a Twitter user asking if Starlink could accept Dogecoin, Elon Musk responded to the tweet with a winking face emoji, which some interpreted as Starlink considering integrating Dogecoin payments.
Technically a branch of the private space exploration company SpaceX, Starlink is a satellite internet project that promises to provide high-speed broadband internet to as many people around the world as possible. Starlink has so far placed more than 2,000 working satellites into orbit after many successful launches.
Elon Musk announced on his Twitter account that Tesla products can be purchased with Dogecoin. Before the announcement, the Dogecoin price of some products began to appear in the Tesla online store. Before Ion Musk's announcement, Dogecoin was on the rise.
Last March, Tesla also enabled Bitcoin payments, but later decided to discontinue it due to environmental concerns. Musk also nudged McDonald's to accept Dogecoin in late January, but the attempt proved futile as the fast-food giant laughedly rejected the attempt.
