Date Announced for Otherside Metaverse’s Second Trip

Bored Ape Yacht Club parent company Yuga Labs has revealed new details for the second test of the Otherside metaverse platform. Yuga Labs announced that the second test will take place on March 25 and will include a two-hour narrative experience led by four Otherside team captains. The second test will be open to holders of Otherdeed nonfold tokens (NFTs) tied to land in the yet-to-be-released Otherside metaverse. Each eligible “Traveler” will have the opportunity to invite a guest to join them in the experience.

Yuga Labs will accommodate 10,000 passengers on a first come, first served basis. The event will be broadcast live on the company’s YouTube channel. On the other hand, Voyagers on the second trip who join the First trip will also be eligible to earn a unique Obelisk Fragment related to the general narrative of Otherside.

The company first introduced its metaverse goals in April 2022 as a platform where players can own land and transform their existing NFTs into playable characters. Yuga Labs initially sold 55,000 Otherdeed NFTs linked to virtual land ownership and generated approximately $320 million from primary sales. According to OpenSea, Otherdeed NFTs have had total sales of 524,130 ETH (approximately $806 million) to date. The base price at the time of publication for an Otherdeed NFT is 1.9 ETH, or approximately $2,920.
