Daniel Alegre Joins Yuga Labs

Daniel Alegre is the new CEO of Yuga Labs, the company behind the Bored Ape Yacht Club and CryptoPunks NFT collection. Alegre resigned from Activision Blizzard to join the NFT initiative on April 1. Alegre stated that he could not be more excited for the next stage.

“Today is my last day as President and COO of Activision Blizzard. Thank you to the incredible teams who create truly epic games. Tomorrow I officially start at CEO of Yuga Labs. Couldn’t be more excited for this next chapter.”

Daniel Alegre has been in the gaming, entertainment and technology industries for many years. Alegre has directed popular game series such as Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, Diablo, and Candy Crush. Yuga Labs announced that Alegre is coming in December. At that time, it was stated that the arrival of Alegre was a great opportunity to define the metaverse.

Alegre’s arrival was expressed as a bold move in the NFT industry. Kieran Warnick, co-founder of blockchain-based RPG game Illuvium, emphasized that this step of Yuga Labs is important for all of GameFi.
