Chinese search engine giant Baidu has announced that its Metaverse product, Xirang, will be released on December 27. In addition, the company will also host the first Baidu AI Developer Conference. More than 100,000 people are expected to be in touch with each other at the same time during the event.
Xirang has the distinction of being China's first Metaverse universe as a large interactive space where thousands of people will come together. According to the company's president, the Metaverses are still in the early stages of development, and projects like Xirang should not be expected to be fully completed when they hit the market.
In the details of the project, it was stated that the new virtual world will have Chinese urban design and will contain elements of Chinese culture. Within the project, users will also have an avatar that they can use during personal meetings, shopping and communicating with each other.
Project managers claimed that there will be features that will contribute significantly to the gameplay, along with some realistic visual and auditory effects in the virtual world. Users on Metaverse will also be able to communicate by voice. Baidu said in its statement;
“Together with modern graphics and multiple human interaction, the Metaverse we created aims to provide users with a high-end experience.”
Baidu explained that their aim for the project is to launch the most technically advanced Metaverse product through graphics engine, artificial intelligence and cloud computing.
Latest Situation in Metaverse Tokens
After Facebook changed its name to Meta, many companies started to take steps in virtual worlds. In addition, many cryptocurrencies related to virtual worlds have also managed to double their value in the market. Among these, the most notable were the SAND and MANA tokens.
The prices of the cryptocurrencies in question had a great rally, breaking their all-time high price records. However, the large downward wave in the crypto money market caused Metaverse tokens to fall from the agenda to some extent. Bitcoin, which lost about 20% of its value, also caused a significant part of altcoins to take a big hit.
In addition, some altcoins in the market were able to double their value by taking advantage of the situation. Terra (LUNA), which has recently become one of the top 10 cryptocurrencies in the world, is at the forefront of the cryptocurrencies that increase its value.
