Liang Zhifeng, director of the SME Bureau of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China, said that they decided to support SMEs in building infrastructure and other issues to accelerate digital industrialization.

Ministry official Zhifeng stated that they will guide and provide serious support to SMEs that want to enter digital industries such as the metaverse, blockchain, artificial intelligence and other emerging areas, and they will accelerate their steps in order to benefit from the potential of the country in the metaverse. Stating that there are some SMEs that are progressing on the path of digital-industrialization, albeit in a small number, Zhifeng said that they want their number to increase because the number of small and medium-sized SMEs must be high for such technologies to spread to the country in a healthy way.

As it is known, China is currently the fastest growing country in central bank digital currencies. China, which took steps to ban cryptocurrencies last May and started to consider such transactions illegal in September, is taking aggressive steps in metaverse issues.

While XiRang, the metaverse application of the country's technology giant Baidu, made long-term investments in this regard, China Communication University also opened a campus on XiRang. Chinese internet technology giant Alibaba also founded a metaverse-focused company called Yuanjing Shengsheng with a capital of $ 1.6 million.

Experts stated that China, which is a leader in internet applications and is considered to be the pioneer of 5G technology, has a natural interest in adopting the metaverse, while local governments of China have started to include the metaverse in their government work reports for the 2022 calendar.
