Cardano CEO: “Alongside DOGE, This Altcoin Can Also Come To Twitter!”

Charles Hoskinson, co-founder and CEO of IO Global (IOG), the company responsible for Cardano’s R&D, made statements that he thinks Cardano will evolve into “a blockchain network” in the long run. In addition, Hoskinson also states that Dogecoin (DOGE) and Binance Coin (BNB) may be part of Elon Musk’s Twitter plans.

Speaking at the Web Summit conference in Lisbon, Hoskinson said he estimated that Elon Musk’s acquisition of Twitter could bring an additional 200 million users to the cryptocurrency space. As many people have mentioned before, Hoskinson also thinks that Musk can integrate the popular meme token Dogecoin into the platform.

However, Hoskinson said that creating a DOGE sidechain in Cardano would be “a lot of fun” and that DOGE could be used in a way that would lead to many more people using it. Hoskinson is actually one of the controversial names in the crypto money ecosystem and his statements can get reaction from time to time. At this point, it is thought that Hoskinson may be using Musk and DOGE to increase interest in his own project.

Hoskinson stated during the event that he saw “lots of great things on the horizon” when it comes to cryptocurrencies, and commented, “Because we are in the middle of the third generation cryptocurrencies”.

According to Hoskinson, first-generation cryptocurrencies brought decentralization. Expressing that the second generation is the smart contracts brought by Ethereum (ETH), Hoskinson states that the third generation cryptocurrencies bring scalability, interoperability and governance. In addition, the CEO describes Algorand, NEAR, Tezos, and Cardano as third-generation “fighting” protocols. In addition, according to Hoskinson, the fourth generation can bring many things related to multi-source consensus, embedded identity and quantum.

Hoskinson also said that Binance’s $500 million investment in Musk’s Twitter acquisition has something to do with the exchange that wants to support the social media platform when it comes to cryptocurrency integration. Expressing that he has no clear information at this point, the CEO said, “I don’t have any information about this, but if I have to guess, I think Binance is pushing for it…”
