AS Roma Establishes Collaboration With DigitalBits (XDB)

AS Roma now accepts payments with DigitalBits (XDB), which describes itself as the “leading Blockchain for brands”. Payments; It will be held in five of the club’s most important retail stores, including the Fan zone in Via del Corso, Piazza Colonna, Ottaviano, Porta di Roma and Stadio Olimpico.

In other words, customers will be able to use DigitalBits to purchase AS Roma branded products. Payments can be made by scanning a QR code through the AstraX mobile wallet. Daniele Mensi, Managing Director of the DigitalBits Foundation, made the following statements about the partnership:

Partnering with a top football club with millions of fans worldwide is an excellent step towards delivering a consumer-friendly experience to the next generation of web3 users.”

AS Roma became the first well-established football club to start accepting payments with cryptocurrencies, in partnership with DigitalBits. In the statement made by the AS Roma front, blockchain-based solutions were pointed out to strengthen the ties between the fans and the club. In November 2021, the Perth Heat, one of Australia’s baseball clubs, also started accepting crypto money payments. In fact, Perth Heat had converted a large part of its balance sheet to Bitcoin and switched to the Bitcoin standard.
