Metaverse appears as a "virtual world" that Meta wants to establish. Combining the virtual world concept we see in science fiction movies with a special social network for the metaverse world called "Horizon", Meta creates a virtual reality-centered future dream where digital avatars will be interacted with. Planning Metaverse not only for entertainment but also for working life, Meta continues to work in this direction. One of these studies was focused on 18+.
All of the worlds created in Horizon Worlds will be marked as 18+ by the company as of next month. If people wish, they will be able to get rid of the 18+ phrase by agreeing to comply with certain prohibitions. However, if there is obscene content in the virtual world, in addition to that, if it contains content that is objectionable for individuals under the age of 18, it will remain 18+. Not everything will be free in the 18+ marked virtual worlds in Horizon Worlds worlds. The company will not allow excessive sexuality, nudity, crime, dangerous acts, illegal drug sharing, matters such as murder, and the real-world sale of products such as weapons in these environments, even if it is virtual. Only basic adult content will be allowed here.
Meta wants content producers to make money within Horizon Worlds, the social metaverse platform that can be accessed with Quest VR headsets. Here, in the first stage, it is aimed to sell special objects only to the virtual worlds created by certain creators. It is stated that there will even be access keys to the special areas created between these objects. Meta will be able to cut commissions close to 47 percent here. In other words, the creator will earn much less than the main money of the item he sells. Virtual world purchases seem to be the material face of the future of the metaverse, and NFT sales for these worlds are also in focus.
